Hey everybody, it's Elder Alder here... can't believe it's been more than 6 years since I left la Republica, but what memories!
Not one day passes that I don't think of that wonderful time when we were doing the Lord's work in Ecuador. I even recently saw an Otavalan musical group from Peguche at the Oregon State Fair! (I talked to one of the players, and we had a good talk about Otavalo).
I'm having a great time here in my home state of Oregon.
I graduated with two journalism degrees from the University of Oregon in June 2005 and I was the Sports Editor of the Cottage Grove Sentinel in Cottage Grove, Ore., from 2005-2006.
After that, I worked as the Tourism Public Relations Manager for the Convention and Visitors Association of Lane County, Ore., based in Eugene, as well as a freelance writer and columnist for a few of the local newspapers.
Currently, I'm the director of marketing and public relations for Hoodoo Ski and Recreation Services (http://hoodoo.com).
I met my wife, Emily, in our singles ward at the Eugene Institute and we started dating in February 2006.
We were married July 28, 2007, in the Portland Oregon Temple.
Emily is currently in the doctoral program of clinical psychology at Pacific University in Hillsboro, Ore. We're enjoying married life living in the Portland-metro area.
It was great to see many of you at the August 2002 reunion... que nos reunamos de nuevo muy pronto!
I only make it out to Utah every couple of years or so as life here in the promised land of the Pacific NW keeps me busy and happy! But, I'd love to have an excuse to go back to Utah!!
