I just wanted to let you all that are serving or have served know how rewarding it is to return to the mission field after many years. I served when the mission was Florida South and later Florida Ft. Lauderdale. I served in Miami, Puerto Rico and Hialeah. I returned to Puerto Rico after 30 years. Went to the little branch where I had served and there found a large branch with a chapel and over 100 people in Sacrament meeting from the 4-6 that we would have so many years ago. One of the sisters we baptized had brought her whole family in to the church, sisters, mother, brother. One of the sisters had served a mission and the sister that I baptized had remained true and faithful all those years. What joy. Plant the seeds and one day we will all enjoy the fruits in the Celestial Kingdom.
If anyone knows the Carrasas from Hialeah. They had a daughter, Haidee. I did find Carlos Cruz in Kendall. |

I realize that this is a long shot, but it's worth it to me. Way back in the early '70's, my husband was stationed in Key West. We were contacted but the elders several times and finally we let them teach us the lessons. That was from March through July of 1973. We were going to be moving to Pittsburgh PA that summer and we told the elders we would join the Church there. I didn't know then how disappointed they must have been, not to mention that they probably thought we were just giving them the brush-off.
But we did join in March 1974. We had a new baby (the 1st). Several years later I found the card of one of the elders and my little boy thought he would help me clean up and he threw it away. I know that one of the elders' names was Kenneth Sanders from Portland. The other one was David Aguard. I have been searching for their names on this site for several years. If anyone knows of their whereabouts, please email me. It would be good for them to know that we have sent out three missionaries of our own (Spain, Colorado, Germany) and my husband has served as a bishop.
It is my desire for these elders to know that their work was not in vain. What they did has reached three generations now that we have grandchildren.
Bless all of you missionaries who give so much. Do not ever think it is for naught. What you do reaches into the eternities. Thank you. Janet |

My Son, Elder Adam L. Nay, was sealed to Carly N. Veater in the San Diego Temple on March 12, 2005. Adam has entered the military and is studying to become a Dentist and eventually an Orthodontist. Adam and Carly are being transferred to Landstuhl, Germany on October 27th. We wish them the best!

It's going to be interesting weather for me, as I come from Alberta, Canada. We'll see how well I do with the warm weather. See you soon!! |
