Comments: President Farnsworth was born in Cedar City, Utah. Served as a missionary in the Cumorah Mission in upstate New York. He completed his undergraduate and graduate education at the University of Utah. Following two years as a major in the US Air Force Medical Corps, he practiced medicine in Salt Lake City and served as a clinical professor at the University of Utah School of Medicine. He served as a stake mission president, high councilor, bishop, and member of stake presidency before being called as mission president. Sister Farnsworth was raised in Salt Lake City and graduated from the University of Utah with a B.S. degree in elementary education and taught sixth grade for three years. She has served as Relief Socity president and instructor, counselor and advisor in the Young Woman's organization and teacher and chorister in the Primary. They are the parents of four children and ten grandchildren. |
