Comments:
I'm still single after all these years. C'est ma vie. I was able to make it back to France about 2 years ago for a couple of weeks. A friend and I spent 4 days going down the Loire and seeing all the chateaux we could. We especially enjoyed Amboise, Chenonceau, and Chambord. We started in Blois, turned around in Chinon, and drove back to Blois where we caught a train to Paris. We spent a week there. We spent a day in Chartres and Versailles. From Paris, we went north to Le Havre, rented a car, and toured Normandy for 3 days. We went to the D-Day beaches, saw the tapestry in Bayeux, and spent an afternoon in Mont-Saint-Michel. From there we drove to Rennes and dropped off the car and caught the TGV to Paris. The last stop of the TGV before Paris was in Le Mans. I found myself wishing we'd had time to get off the train there, since Le Mans was my first area. I still remember getting off the train there in November, 1973, hoping I'd recognize my senior companion Elder
