Comments:
While in Phoenix recently for an academic conference, I remembered on Saturday evening that my former mission president was from Phoenix, so I looked in the phone book but his number was not listed. I called stake presidents and the temple, but could not find anyone who knew him, so I gave up and went to bed. The next morning I took a taxi to the nearest chapel and while waiting for meetings to start I asked a member of the ward if he knew any Fullers; he gave me the phone number of Jack Fuller Jr., who because of my phone call stopped by with his family to pick me up on their way to a missionary farewell that his dad would be attending. I will never forget the feeling as I quietly took a seat beside him on the back row of the chapel. We had not talked to each other since I left Paris in June of 1978. We spent the rest of the day together. I am grateful that the Lord allowed me to have a joyous reunion with this great man for whom I have deep love and respect.
