Comments:
My family and I have now returned to the grand metropolis of Pima (population around 3,000) after bouncing all around Arizona for about fourteen years. We lived four years in Flagstaff (which receives more annual snowfall than Denver), six years in Yuma (where it is hotter than...well, anyway) and four years in Gilbert. To get to my job at Ft. Thomas high school I must endure two stops signs and no traffic lights during my 13 mile commute. The high school has under 200 students, 90% of whom are members of the Apache tribe from the neighboring reservation. I taught French, Spanish, and ESL in Yuma (I even taught a World History/Life Science class in Spanish as part of the bilingual program!), all French in Gilbert, but in the small district in which I now teach French is not offered.

Why did I move here, you wonder? I have always been a country boy, and did not like living in a city and having my kids attend big citified schools. We now own the house that my wife grew up in; our moms were visiting teaching companions when we were in fifth grade, and I visited the building site many times and played with my future wife while our moms talked. We have six kids, a boy and five girls (ages 3-15). Out here they have room to roam, with a wash right down the hill from our house and farmland on the other side of it. My wife is an R.N. and works part time in order to make up for my pitiful salary.

I know that this is more like an epistle, but I really wish everyone would flood us with more information about themselves. We are happy and life is good!
