My list of companions includes some (but not all) of the many 'part-time' companions I had as an incompetent (but earnest) zone leader at the end of '89, when every senior companion got three 'bleu' junior companions, and every zone leader had five. My list does not include some of my dearest friends, Elder Pete Miller (mon pere) Elder Mark Stringham (fellow crimefighter) and the amazing Guy Banthoud, who evaded the French Draft for his love of God.

I'm still a little haunted by my mission, and it shows in what I've done with myself since. I worked as an investigator for a while, and later in state government. I spent time in Army special operations where my French proved useful...I'm now working on a PhD in Conflict Resolution...still trying to understand, love, and serve in spite of my foibles.
