News Item: Policy change for reports of temple progress

After receiving numerous reports in the French press regarding the possible acquisition of the domaine de Gondi, The France Paris Mission Alumni Web Site has now heard from various persons stating that the press was mistaken regarding key elements in their reporting.
As the site administration has no means to investigate every press report, a decision has been made that no further reports involving a possible temple in France will be posted to the alumni web site, until and unless an official statement is published in the Ensign or made in General Conference or through other official channels.
Over the years, statements from sources both within and outside the Church have repeatedly made the prospect of a temple in France seem more imminent than actually was the case. The France Paris Mission Alumni Web Site hopes through this change in policy to avoid investing further energy in such chimeras.
