Schütze - Wunderlich Reunion Recap

(April 5, 2002) - Thanks to those who helped put together the reunion in Salt Lake. While we were a relatively small group, it was enjoyable to see a few "old" faces again, swap forgotten stories (thanks, Johns), and eat Krispy Kreme and other goodies.

Both Presidents Schütze and Wunderlich and their wives attended. So we were able to hear from them both. In an effort to show that we perhaps do not remember our German as well as we think, we sang "Auserwählt zu dienen." We were all admonished and reminded, "Einmal Missionar, immer Missionar," and to that end we were all committed (right down to the "Werden Sie...") to go home and encourage at least one couple (parents, grandparents, neighbors, or others) to serve a mission.

As President Schütze described the faith of the members in Eastern Europe, he emphasized that they all are in need of strength and support from other members with established testimonies and gospel understanding. He requested, in committing us to recruit new missionary couples, that these couples strongly consider serving in Eastern Europe where they are truly needed for their leadership and strength.

To anyone reading this recap you are now also part of this commitment, "WILL YOU prepare and admonish couples that you know to go serve the Lord on a mission?"
