I didn't marry until six years ago. I am the proud daddy of a 2 year old son, born just a month before my 48th birthday, and who is the joy of my life. I am now only just beginning to understand the incomprehensible sacrifice of the Father when he sent his "precious child" (to quote Mormon) to suffer for our sins.
I've been back to Germany twice since my mission. Once in 1977 with "Sounds of Zion," a choir at the institute of religion at Utah State, and again in 1991. It was great to visit some of the people that I had known on my mission, particularly Hanna and Uelrika Werner in Hamburg and the Ruff and Hammerl families in Rendsburg.
None of my companions are listed in the database and I'm only aware of the present whereabouts of one of them. Ron Hatfield lives in Orem, UT and is currently a bishop there. |
