"I was in the 'Bavarian' mission from 5/63 under Owen Spencer Jacobs, until 9/65 when it had become the South German Mission again and was under President Fetzer. ....The current President in Munich I knew in Berlin. I was in the Embassy in Bonn from 1984-90, the FBI's Legal Attache Office, in Berlin from 7/91 to 7/95, same job. While in Berlin I served on the High Council of the Berlin Stake. Holger Rakow was the first counselor in the Stake Presidency then. When the Stake was reorganized in 1993, he was called to be the Stake President. He was released as Stake President in late summer 1995 when he was called to be an Area Authority, later Area Authority Seventy, he served in that position until he was called as Mission President and released. He also was the second counselor in the Area Presidency in Frankfurt for about 18 months I think just before being called as a Mission President. His wife is Steffi Broich Rakow (I knew her as a little girl in Tegernsee as a missionary....small world when I realized who she was in 1992!) They have 5 children, Karolina (married) Viktor (served in SLC auf Mission), Fabian, Vanessa, and Jenni. Wonderful family."

Pres. Holger Rakow served in the England London South Mission under Pres. R. Donald Livingstone, between 1973-76. I think it would be 74-76. I'm sure he can tell you the exact years. |
