After my mission I have continued traveling. After working 6 months in China teaching English to children I moved to America for 10 months where I worked developing curriculum for children learning English as a second language around the world. Then I moved to Russia for a year where I was a head teacher for an organisation called ILP where I supervised teachers teaching English to children in Russian schools. The adventures continued and 3 weeks after the Kosova conflict finished in June 1999 I flew to Kosova and began working there for a British Charity setting up pre-schools and family support programs for those children and families returning from the refugee camps and back to their home.
I have spent the last year working full time out in Afghanistan. I work with returning refugees, though, for an Italian organization. I am planning on continuing my work in 2004 in Afghanistan, which of course has it moments for being scarey, but the people bring me such joy to work with and a sense of peace. |
