I married Jody Walters, from Oelwein, Iowa, in 1982. We wrote to each other a couple of years before we met. During that time she visited Nauvoo and there began her conversion to the Church. We have lived in southeast Iowa, west central Illinois, Salt Lake, and now southern Mississippi. Our twins, Kayla and Jacob, were born in Burlington, Iowa in 1990. Jacob has autism. I used to be a draftsman, detailing steel, but now I automate drafting. Fortunately, the Church is still true. I abandoned my dream to be a novelist when I found out that computer programming was a lot more fun, and it's a lot easier to know when it's being done right. |
