Presidents: Kenneth Neeley (1989 - 1992) | Served: 1989 - 1991 | Language(s) spoken:English | Areas Served: Chicago Heights, North Chicago (Naval Base), Chicago (Midway area), Elmhurst, Schaumburg, Antioch | Companions: Lisa Withers (Schetselaar) | Your Occupation: Mother extraordinaire | Spouse: Paul | Comments: After serving in Chicago, I went back to BYU where I graduated with a BA in Cultural Anthropology. I love different cultures and places! I also met and married Paul Edmunds. We were set up by a past roomate of mine, Suzie Davis, who had served her mission in France with Paul. We have 4 wonderful children: Matthew-14, Nadine-11, Joseph-7, and Jensen-1. I love being a mother and am blessed to be at home with them.
I also spend my time landscaping. I relish a challenge. I will be trying my hand at a rock mosaic this summer. I have been in the rose society for several years and enjoy the color and scent roses bring to my garden. My friend Emily and I give several garden parties each year, which are a lot of fun.
Another love is gourmet cooking. Every day cooking is a chore that I endure, but I love to try fancy and exotic things, many of which I serve at our garden parties. Although not every dish has been a taste sensation, I'm pleased to say no one has been hospitalized from the experience, which is always a good thing.
I also love Bossa Nova music, Bebel Gilberto, especially. Smooth jazz is also nice; I'm especially fond of Janita, Sade and Basia.
My church callings have mostly been in teaching positions. I have been blessed to teach in every area of the church. Now I am the primary president and would stay here forever. Teaching children is pure joy and I feel the Spirit each Sunday. They are closer to Christ than most of us and it is a priviledge to be there.
My companions were not listed on the choices available, so here they are: Tanya D'Orlando, Aimee Anderson, Sister Pett, Christine Matheson, Lisa Schetselaar, Hermana Kiss (while she waited for a visa), Sau Kuen Lee (from Hong Kong), Jocelyn Frandsen, Pamela Carter, Rebecca Fietkau, and Sister Morris. |
