| Comments: We served a part-time mission under Pres. Jones 1991-1993. We were called by Pres. Jones's Counselor, Dean Belnap, to serve as managing Directors of Family History. David was in Indonesia at the request of the Indonesian government to help design the N250 aircraft for IPTN, the national aircraft company. We traveled to each of the 18 branches and gave seminars on family history, genealogy and temples and taught them how they were joined together in the gospel and how the members could become involved in preparing their ancestor's names to be sent to the temple so their ordinances could be performed in their behalf. A computer school was established to teach the local members how to use the computer to enter the pedigree information gathered. As a result, tens of thousands of ordinances were qualified for temple work. We also taught the local leaders how to continue the effort after we left Indonesia. | |
