The posted addresses and phone numbers of Japanese Church units (wards, branches, missions, and temples) were not obtained from official Church records, but from publicly available on-line phone directories.
Addresses and phone numbers were obtained from the Japanese language NTT i-Town Pages (listings current as of May 2003). These will be checked periodically.

Addresses and phone numbers were checked against the following sources:
Kobe Mission hard-copy address directory (circa 1999)Fukuoka Mission Website (http://www.mission.net/japan/fukuoka/archives/directory/wardbranch.html)
Hiroshima Mission Website (http://www3.kyosai.or.jp/~ldshiro/en/map.htm)
Tokyo North Mission Website (http://www.mission.net/japan/tokyo/north/page.php?lang=eng&pg_id=1476)
Todd Ogaards Webpage (Sendai Mission) (http://ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages/togaard/page10.html)
Addresses Japan now uses 7-digit postal zip codes (in the form xxx-xxxx preceded by a T with a bar on top). Postal zip codes and address kanji readings were checked using the Japanese postal code locator.

For wards and branches meeting in church-owned chapels, the address given should be specific to the chapel. For branches meeting in rented buildings, the address given may or may not provide the specific building name, floor, and/or room number. However, the address should be unique to that specific building.
Phone Numbers Listed phone numbers are for domestic Japanese calls. For long distance calls from the U.S. to Japan, the leading zero (0) should be dropped and the international code (011) and the country code for Japan (81) should be added. Thus, the domestic phone number for the Jōyō Ward, Kyōto Stake is 0774-53-4128; the international number from the U.S. is 011-81-774-53-4128.
Time Difference Japan is entirely in one time zone. During Standard Time (last Sunday in October to first Sunday in April) the time difference between Japan and the U.S. (Pacific) is +17 hours (i.e., Japan is 17 hours ahead). Other time differences are +16 hours for Mountain Standard, +15 hours for Central Standard, and +14 hours for Eastern Standard. Japan does not follow Daylight Savings Time, so during Daylight Savings Time (first Sunday in April to last Sunday in October), the time differences are +16 hours for Pacific Daylight, +15 hours for Mountain Daylight, +14 hours for Central Daylight, and +13 hours for Eastern Daylight. As a rule of thumb, Japan will basically be one day ahead of the U.S., unless calling in the early morning from the U.S.
Maps Where possible, a coarse-scale and fine-scale map were provided for each church unit. For some church units, the coarse-scale and fine-scale maps may not correspond exactly. In general, none of these maps have been ground-truthed. That is to say, inaccuracies may exist. No guarantees are provided for the accuracy of these maps.
The coarse-scale maps were created using Mapion (http://www.mapion.co.jp/).
