Presidents: Shigeki Moriyama (1986 - 1989) | Served: 1987 - 1989 | Areas Served: Semboku, Abeno, Nara, Mikunigaoka, Wakayama, Korien(Neyagawa) | Companions: James Byron Litster | Don Hyrum Smith | Spouse: Marlene Erikson | Comments: I am married to Marlene Erikson who is the younger sister of Bill Erikson choro (87-89)--and it WASN'T one of those "hey, hook me up with your sister" things either. We've been married 15 years and have 5 kids: Dallin (13), Natalie (almost 11), Jace (9), Cade (3), and Ryan (10 mo.).
I am finishing up the last few weeks of my MBA through BYU's Executive MBA program. Yeah...it only took me about 10 years to get the courage up to go back to grad school.
We recently just got home from our Foreign Business Excursions. I had the opportunity to go back to Japan since we could choose to go to either Asia, Europe, or S. America. But, I chose to go someplace new--S. America, and had the time of my life. We had the opportunity to mingle with people and visit spectacular sites in 5 different countries (Brazil, Argentina, Paraguay, Chile, and Peru).
We had an incredible time and I also now know why so many S. A. returned missionaries love their missions as much as we love ours.
I miss Japan and I miss our mission reunions--I haven't heard of any for a long time, but maybe it's just me being uninformed. Hopefully someday we can have one again and can all get together to relive the "good ol' days".
I did get to see the Moriyamas and Magleby choro at a celebration of 100 years of the church in Japan at BYU a couple of years ago. That was great, but I really expected to see more of you there.
Anyway, hope all is well...
Love,
Parkinson Choro

LDS QUOTE: |
"You are a great army of returned missionaries. Go forward with new zeal and determination, and through your example shine the light of the gospel in this troubled world. This is the Lord's work in which we are engaged. God lives. Jesus is the Christ. We belong to His Church. This is my witness to you in the name of Jesus Christ, amen."
