Merrill L. Blalock, 43, is president of the Centreville Branch, Denham Springs Louisiana Stake.
He is a son of Willie Cleveland and Nora Lee Plemmons Blalock, and was born in Liberty, Miss. After serving as a full-time missionary in the Northern Far East Mission, he married Carolyn Spiers Aug. 16, 1966, in the Salt Lake Temple. They are parents of four children.
Pres. Blalock, who holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Southern Mississippi, is a self-employed businessman. He has served as high councilor, stake Sunday School president, bishop, counselor in a stake presidency and counselor in a mission presidency.
Sister Blalock was born in McNeill, Miss., a daughter of D. Talmage and Irona Magnolia Seal Spiers. She is a Relief Society and seminary teacher. She previously served as branch Young Women president, on ward, branch and stake Primary and Relief Society boards and in a variety of ward and stake music callings. |
