One thing I remember about this location is that you can see the curvature of the earth with the naked eye. We went there on a P-day, but it was really hazy and couldn't see much. In a picture I got from Kurashige shimai you can see that the horizon is lower on the edges of the picture than in the center. VERY cool.
There is likely some other historical significance, but I don't remember. |
