Graduated from BYU in '95 with a BA in Middle East Studies and minor in Arabic, where I studied under FARMS notables Daniel C. Peterson and William Hamblin (I was his TA, met him during my sojourn in Palestine/Israel '92). I got married literally the day after my graduation to a wonderful woman Susan Metcalf. After puttering about for a year I attended graduate school @ Thunderbird in AZ. I took a job with Arthur Andersen as a consultant in Houston, TX where I helped "big oil" and "The Texas Energy Cartel" (Enron, Reliant Energy et al.) to bilk the gasoline and natural gas buying public for billions-o-dollars. Note:When I penned the above statement in jest in 2001 I had no idea that its was the truth. Now everyone is well aware of Enron and the collapse of Arthur Andersen. I never worked for Enron directly but knew many others who did as auditors and consultants. Most of them now work for KPMG. It has been a very sad affair but I am glad I left just in time. I was offered a job (the proverbial "offer you can't refuse") with Compaq Computer Corp. (now HP) There have been a panoply of changes and I know reside in the Network Storage Solutions group, Infrastructure and NAS Division as the NAS Strategy and Business Planning manager. Ive been married 7 years and no children yet just dogs (2 beagles). My enjoyment comes primarily from following events in the Middle East. I run a web list on my own domain dedicated to Middle Eastern issues, MENAVista.com and help maintain a site about the church in Arabic http://www.arablds.net/. |
