I can't believe it was almost twenty years ago that I stepped off the plane in Detroit!
It truly was an experience I will never forget. Anyway, I finishes up my degree in Sociology, and in August of '92', I packed my bags and headed for New Orleans to get away work as a nanny and get my certificate in paralegal studies form Tulane(night school). I also met my husband the first time I went to church there. Since then, we've had two boys who are both Autistic/MR. Although it has been chalenging, both Toby and Adam are progressing in their abilities to learn. It would be great to hear from anyone who served during '86-88'. I kind of lost track of alot of people that I should have stayed in touch with. Oh yeah- Sis. Abbott and I have managed to keep in contact but it would be nice to hear from 'yall. By the way, we were blessed that we didn't have any real damage to ouselves or our home during Hurricane katrina. All of us down here appreciated your support and prayers. |
