Elder Jeff Rupp and President Cope

When I arrived in the mission field, I was surprised to find that little President Cope had one of the tallest elders in the mission field as his AP/body guard.  Their difference in height is accentuated in this photo of the famous "suit jacket exchange" taken at a zone conference May 12, 1988.  (Elder Jeff Rupp is on the left resting his arm on President Cope.)  As I recall, it was President Cope's idea to exchange jackets -- he had a great sense of humor!
