Allred | Jeremy Scott Burbank | John L. Carter | Ryan Erin Wright | Your Occupation: Mechanical Engineer | Spouse: Lisa | Comments: I'm very sad to find out just tonight (Nov 29, 2005) that Pres. McGrath recently passed away. I think we'll all miss him.
Here's my bio:
I married my wife, Lisa in 1997 and we've been happily married for over 8 years now. (Yea, yea, I'm sure my old comps question the "happy" part knowing what a jerk-off I am.) We have three kids, the oldest of which passed away as an infant and is waiting for us on the other side. I graduated from BYU in 2000. Since then, we've been living in Minden NV a few minutes away from Lake Tahoe, where I ride my mountain bike in paradise. Guess I couldn't get enough of the old bike on the mission. I work for General Electric as a mechanical engineer designing transducers and vibration monitoring equipment for rotating machinery in the power and Oil/Gas Industries. (www.bently.com) I also spent several years in a Technical Training role using the commitment pattern to teach our customers how to diagnose machine malfunctions and use our software products.
As far as church callings, I was released earlier this year as Ward Mission Leader and loved teaching the gospel again to people with young testimonies. That calling brought back a lot of memories. I am now serving as Ward Clerk and enjoy serving with and learning from our Bishopric.
Here's an interesting note: Elder Kevin Jensen (MSLM 1992-1994) was in our ward and we worked at the same company until he moved to Utah about a year ago. Also, Elder Bret Paulson is in my Stake and I just saw him earlier this month at a Stake meeting.
In 2002, we visited the mission and Nauvoo Temple Open House. It was great to see Pam Skelton in Chestefield and Don & Monica Majerus in Pocahontas, Ill who I helped teach and baptize. So much was the same there, even the elevator in the mission office with all the signatures. I couldn't find my signature, but it's written in there somewhere. |
