I graduated from BYU-Idaho in 2006, did my internship that summer in Chicago, then in the fall I went to China where I spent the year teaching oral English to middle school kids. During the Chinese New Year I got to go to the Virgin Islands to visit family, which was a much needed R&R for me.
In July 2007 I came back home to Texas where I got a job in retail, taking a quick holiday trip to Virginia to visit extended family at Christmas, then I came back home and changed jobs again to work at a car dealership in the summer of 2008. Then I got laid off, ran away from a hurricane, got another job and got bounced around within that job for a bit, finally got a permanent position and then got laid off from that job in July, then got yet another job (this time working with kids; yay!) and I've been at this one since August 2009.
Other than all the job drama, I'm very involved in my local Institute and our newly formed single's branch (yeah, still going it solo. are you surprised? :P). We just had a new stake formed in our area, so things will be changing a bit.
**2011 UPDATE**
Still in the single's branch, but working as a full-time nanny now, and I love it! Life is good, and the Church is True! Even in Texas ;o) |
