Stories: Tracting Wars!

During a winter morning of 1999, Elder Luna and I thought it would be interesting if we tracted alongside the Sister missionaries. We would take one side of the street, and have the sisters tract along the other side. In theory, with the four of us, we would be able to canvas a greater area.
We called Sister Jennifer Edwards and Sister Mary Fa. They thought it an excellent idea, and we arranged a time and specific place to begin tracting.
It was a beautiful morning in Great Falls. They typical wind was absent, and a fresh powdery layer of snow blanketed the ground. The four of met, asked Heavenly Father in prayer to bless us with success, and eagerly departed to start knocking on doors.
Elder Luna and I proceeded down the street, going from door to door and having no success what-so-ever. Near the end of the block, feeling deflated in spirit, we looked back to see how Sister Edwards and Sister Fa were faring.
What we saw wasn't quite what we expected. The two of them were battling it out in a fierce snowball fight. We immediately saw that it was a friendly skirmmish, but they were really going at it. Running from yard to yard, screaming and shrieking!
My companion and I just stood there for a moment. Unable to speak, we wondered what they heck they were doing. And then we just burst out laughing.
Even tracting can be fun! |
