Comments: I have been home from the mission for 14 years. I continue to hold many wonderful memories from my service as a missionary among the Spanish people of Las Vegas and Lake Tahoe.
Much has transpired since the return home as I have been happily married for over 13 years. Started out in southern Alberta; however for career opportunities, we moved to a small community in northern Alberta. We now live in a small community of approximately 3000 people. This community is about 95% Mennonite and they are wonderful people, very kind and accepting. Regardless of where we live we are still very active in the gospel as we travel about an hour and fifteen minutes to and from church each Sunday. To attend Stake Conference we must travel five hours and we are not the furthest members away. I will never take the five minute walk or drive to church lightly ever again. We had a great opportunity to make a quick trip down to Salt Lake for conference in April. My wife Lisa and I took our two oldest girls, added a few cousins, and drove the 24 hours and had the experience of a life time.
Would love to hear from anyone serving in the same time period whether a companion, dinner appointment companions (Spanish dinner appointments were in fours at times and so I have added some of those missionaries as companions above as we ate together every day), in the same district/zone, members, or for whatever other reason. |
