Hiroshima; Juso, Sendai, I was one of those who was detained for a long time - probably because of language difficulties! I served about three and a half years. Still not as long as Don Lundberg who captures the post-war title with service of three years and eight months! Then, of course, there is Pres. Andrus.

Graduated from the U of U in 1960. J. D. degree U of Ca, in 1963. He was a partner in a Stockton law firm. In Nov 1978, Norm, a Republican, was elected to the U S House of Representative, and re-elected in 1980, 1982, 1984, 1986, and 1988. He did not run in 1990. He was selected to lead delegations of his colleagues to Japan to meet with representatives of Japanese government many times. Bishop from 1969 to 1974. Also HC and in a stake pres. Pres. of the Japan Hiroshima Mission - 1996 to 1999. In 2000/2001 he served as Public Affairs Director for the Asia No Area - Tokyo. Winter Olympics in 2002 - coordinator for the Asia-Pacific area for the Church's News Resource Center. Married Luana Schow- 1960. 6 children and 28 g'kids. He served 3.5 years as a missionary. Still not as long as Don Lundberg.

Temple under newly-installed President Inoue, entered MTC Jan. 7, 2013; finished assignment in Boston Oct. 15, had family reunion with 6 children, spouses, 36 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren Thanksgiving. Cherished memories of past service in Japan, Mission President ’96-‘99.
