News Item: Bountiful Temple - Hyrum Mead

Dear Wayne,
It breaks our hearts that we have not been able to be at the recent reunions. Rosemary and I serve as ordinance workers in the Bountiful Temple during those Friday events. Our thoughts are with you, but I want you to know that we are involved in work that forwards
the salvation of the Japanese people.
Work is being done at the Bountiful Temple for many Japanese names in support of the overflow from the Tokyo Temple. As a consequence a large percentage of the temple names issued are Japanese, and often those are for people born in the 1600s. Some of the old names are very, very long. Being the only Japanese-speaking ordinance worker on our shift, it is often my opportunity to help patrons read names that
involve more than a dozen kanji, and when romanized have to be hyphenated and written on two lines. The idea that the personal name appears second is also of course new to patrons.
Best Wishes, Hyrum Mead
