Hello, I am looking for Sister Zynito, who served here mission here in 1987-89.
She nicknamed me on her mission, and now I wanna find out why!! And why that name!! I was 2 or 3 at the time, but it has stuck out since she left! And I wanna get back in contact with her ! |

Hey...anybody out there know the whereabouts of an Elder Troy Swiger? He served in the Oregon Eugene Mission under Pres. Rasmussen around 1991. He was from Pa.
Please respond if you know how to locate him, as he was a dear friend of my family. |

I went into the field with Elder Ross, and I remember that he told me about you. I haven't heard from Ross since I've been home, but I've been hoping to be able to catch up with him. Actually I was hoping to find some contact info myself on this site, but alas, to no avail.

| I didn't actually serve a mission to this area, but I know someone who did. His name was Elder Mitch Ross (from Indiana)and I was a friend of his before he left to go to Eugene. We wrote to one another while he served, but I actually moved to Park City (Utah) a few days before he completed his mission and we lost contact with one another. He's probably married and has kids by now, but if any of you happen to know him could you let him know I would like to talk to him again?? Thanks. S.C. |

| I was just called to this mission. It looks like a great place to go. This website is great! :) As a suggestion, you should put on a "Just Called" section, with stuff that a newly called missionary might want to know about the Oregon Eugene Mission! :) |

| No, I am not an alumni of this mission, but I was browsing through the mission links on DearElder.com and thought I would check to see how this mission is doing. My grandfather and nana are President and Sister Cushing :), so naturally I was intrigued to see what was on this website. You guys have done a wonderful job! :) Thanks for letting me browse! |

You might be from the Northwest if you...
- Feel guilty throwing aluminum cans or paper in the trash.
- Use the expression "sun break" and know what it means.
- vKnow more people who own boats than air conditioners.
- Feel overdressed wearing a suit to a nice restaurant.
- Stand on a deserted corner in the rain waiting for the "Walk" signal.
- Consider that if it has no snow or has not recently erupted, it's not a real mountain.
- Know the difference between Chinook, Coho, and Sockeye salmon.
- Know how to pronounce Sequim,
- Puyallup, Issaquah, Oregon, and Willamette.
- Consider swimming an indoor sport.
- Can tell the difference between Japanese, Chinese, and Thai food.
- In winter, go to work in the dark and come home in the dark ... while only working eight-hour days.
- Never go camping without waterproof matches and a poncho.
- Are not fazed by "Today's forecast: showers followed by rain, and tomorrow's forecast: rain followed by showers."
- Can't wait for a day with "showers and sun breaks."
- Have no concept of humidity without precipitation.
- Know that Boring is a town in Oregon and not just a state of mind.
- Can point to at least two volcanoes, even if you can't see through the cloud cover.
- Say, "The Mountain is out" when it's a pretty day and you can actually see it.
- Put on your shorts when the temperature gets above 50, but still wear your hiking boots and parka.
- Switch to your sandals when it gets above 60, but keep the socks on.
Have actually used your mountain bike on a mountain.
- Think people who use umbrellas are either wimps or tourists.
- Knew immediately that the view out "Fraziers" window was fake.
- Buy new sunglasses every year, because you can't find the old ones after such a long time.
- Switch from "heat" to "a/c" in the same day.
- You use a down comforter in the summer.
- Your grandparents drive 65 mph through 2 feet of water during raging rainstorm without flinching.
- Design your kid's Halloween costume to fit under a raincoat.
- Know that driving is better in the winter because almost everybody stays home.
- Think sexy lingerie includes tube socks and flannel pajamas.
- Actually understand these comments and share them with all your friends in Washington and Oregon or those who used to live here.
