Presently I'm the Ward Missionary and am feeling the thrill again. Had a convert baptism last month. Try to work really hard to hold up the high standards of an Oregon Missionary.
Have the full time Elders in my home a lot and have felt the spirit and joy they bring. It is a blessing. Have twin boys going on missions now.
Started a family late in life, and whereas many of my fellow missionaries have grandkids the age of my youngest son (7 yrs as of this writing in 2006), I'm loving having someone to still hold.
Love my work. You might see my art in the New Era about every third month. I paint and illustrate and do advertising design. My partner and i are in our 21st year.
Went up to Portland two weeks ago to visit families i taught. I've kept in touch with many. It has been a real blessing. One family we tracted out in North Portland have particularly been close. I've seen kids married in the temple and gone on missions. The father is presently the Bishop of the Gresham ward. I'll see him again on Monday as he takes his third to the MTC. He even named his second son after me and my companion Robert Ard.
A call from a prophet way back in 1973 is still blessing my life.
