During my mission, I served in the Cities of Fernando de la Mora, Ita, Mburucuya, Loma Puta, & a Rama in Luque. I served with Elder Todd Benson in the MTC, & Elder John Payne, Elder Calley, Elder Todd Benson & I entered the mission field at the same time. My companions included: Elder Gilgin, Elder Thornock, Elder Raymond, Elder Hollingshead, Elder Fisher, Elder Lords, Elder Kaplan, Elder Richards, Elder Tesh, Elder Nakaya, & Elder Avila.
Now being Apr 2008, for the last almost 3 years, we have been in a ward with 200 spanish speaking members. We have a translator every week for the spanish members.
Now being Apr 2010, so much has happened. We are now memebers of a full spanish speaking ward. Our ward was formed in Sep 2009 and we have been seeing the wonderful grouth of our ward members since the ward formed. We started with 120 members and now have close to 300 on the ward list. We have seen members reactivated and baptised over the last 7 months that is just astounding. We see the Lord's hands working on his saints here in Las Vegas. Hemos sido tan bendicidos aqui compartiendo con nuestros queridos hermanos hispanos.
Jen is serving in the Primary as Pianist and as one of our two ward organists. No, Jen doesn't speak that well be she is getting better all the time. Our children have blessed due to the other youth and children in the ward who don't read or write spanish, the youth and primary classes and programs are all being done in English to help them stay strong and learn the gospel.
