Comments: Life moves by too fast- I said that on my mission and I reaffirm that statement even more now. Shortly after returning from the mission field I married my High School sweetheart and began school at Ricks College. Within my last semester of Ricks I began to narrow my focus to the Social Work field and decided to move to Boise in the spring of 2001 and pursue a Bachelors and Masters degree in this. At this time we contemplated taking a trip back to the Philippines before schooling got hectic or having children but decided to have a child instead. We had Kaleb in November of 2001 and Samuel in June of 2004. While attending school I worked in construction and eventually started my own remodeling company, which helped pay for school. In the summer of 2002 the International Folk Dance Festival diverted to Boise and included a team from the Philippines. We had the wonderful pleasure of hosting two of the team members and spending the week with the team. In true Filipino Hospitality, the Filipinos of the Boise area came out in droves to cater to the teams needs, often fixing them elaborate feasts of Filipino food. It was a great experience to refresh my weak Tagalog and share the gospel with them. In 2005 I received my BSW and was accepted into the advanced standing program to receive my Masters in Social work, which I did in 2006. Shortly after graduation we moved back to Rexburg, close to family. Once we moved I began working for Upper Valley Resource and Counseling. Currently I am the program director of Upper Valley Children's Center and am working on my clinical license. We have spent the last year building a home just out side of Rexburg and will hopefully be here for a long time. Since returning from my mission I have become a Jeepney fanatic and would love to have one someday, if there's anyone out there that knows of one here in the states or knows a thing or two about building one, let me know. I hope that all of you are doing great and would love to here from you. |
