When Elder Davidson and I were assigned to Siniloan, we had an experience that I will never forget. I don't quite remember the name of the area we worked in but it was like a small village and some of the members that I remember are the Curioso's and the Lopezs.
Anyways, we got turned down on our first teaching appointment and it affected us that morning. To make it worst, we both forgot our pens to make a re-schedule for a follow up, so I said to comp that we need to buy a pen when we get back. We started tracking that morning looking for investigators. The only thing we got were mud on our shoes and a couple of hey joes. As we got near this one store, I remembered that we needed a pen. From the corner of my eye I could see a man standing in front of his tindahan looking at us. So we approached him and asked if he sold any pens. Ofcourse when your serving in the Philippines, you need "pilot pens" cause those were the brands that make your writing outstanding even if you have a sloppy penmanship. We bought a pen and then the miracle happened.
To make the story short, this man asked who we were and we gave the usual introduction and the authority we served under. He was really interested and we were able to teach the whole family, baptize them, and bring them in the fold. I forgot the family's name but I would really like to get in touch with them. |
