I had seen Elder Ahmad Corbitt's name in the Church news. So I guessed at his email address and tracked him down. He told me about this site. It was great to talk to him.
Elder Russ Church introduced me to my wife. He grew up with her in Delta, Utah. So I stay in touch with him. I tracked down Dan Goodsell a few years ago. I ran into Corey Beebe last summer. Kyle Young and I stay in touch also. I saw Kenny Bennett a few years ago as well. I wish we could have a reunion from this era. I'd be happy to help put it together.
I took my wife and kids back to Puerto Rico for the first time in 2002. We spent a week there. It seemed like most of the members have moved on to the US. So I didn't know many people still there. I did find the Serrano family in Ponce who are still there. The wards in Ponce were struggling at that time due to some problem with leadership which I couldn't find more about. Puerto Rico has changed a lot. But I was still able to find some old areas where you could buy pinchos (bbq meat on a stick) on the street and good rice, beans, and tostones.
Nathan Gibb lives not too far away from me. |
