Ufortunatley this is not Kortney writing this. My name is Melissa Lake. I married Kortney September 25, 2004. We were civilly married in the mountains of Colorado. Just a short 4 months later he was diagnosed with esopageal cancer. Thedocors were stumped because that kind of canceris common in 65 year old men who had smoked, drank, or cewed tobacco all their lives. He continued to wrestle and qualified for nationals before starting chemo on his 24th bday. The battle was going well and things were looking up so we decided to start our family. Invitro was the only way for us. After many doctor visits we foud out we were pregnant. Kortney beamed with pride. As the months went on Kortney took on a full school workload on top of traveling for treatments. We were maried in the San Diego temple December 27, 2005. He died June 5, 2006, 10 days after thebirth of our son. If there are any stories to tell of his daddy I know Kenzy would love to know them.
