Comments:
After 2 sun-filled years of Bermuda (2007-2009), we are living in the Northwest US. It rains a lot here. Joseph & I have 2 children: Alma Noelle is 5 & Julian will be 2 in April of 2011.

We moved here so Alma Noelle could attend the state school for the blind and to diagnose and treat a seizure disorder. There are no teachers for the visually impaired or pediatric neurologists in Bermuda, so as lovely as the ocean was, here we are. You can really tell the earth is round from a cliff a few hundred feet up with the ocean on the horizon. You can see how your field of view terminates as half an ellipse instead of reaching to the edge like a sheet of paper (like it would if the earth were flat, enabling you to see more to the left and right instead of straight ahead). All those land-lubbers of the Dark Ages did not have a chance.

Alma Noelle is in preschool and enjoys swimming, music, gymnastics, and being pushed on the swing. We have been doing therapeutic horse riding lessons even though I am allergic to horses and dust. It's worth it!

We have a big trampoline in the backyard (really a cement patio) that does not get used much, thanks to the rain. Julian loves to flip all of his toys over and spin their wheels. He makes the girls in nursery upset when he dumps their dolly strollers. He likes to throw stuff on the floor and then proclaim in a sweet voice: "I dropped it!" Of course you cannot get angry, but you do not give whatever it was back either.

Given the current state of unemployment, I cannot complain. It took a year for a biologist with a Master's and a teaching credential to find a part-time job 30 miles away, but it was the only interview in that whole time, and I was selected. Now I'm starting to think I had better get the scriptures on CD; our car does not have an I-tunes adapter. We're too cheap I guess.

We are already saving for a trip to Costa Rica next year for our 10th anniversary. Sea turtles rock!
