News Item: Confirming the "Sonderkonferenz"

I am currently an intern in Biel/Bienne and can confirm that there will be a "Sonderkonferenz" held during the first weekend in May with members of the Zurich, Bern, and Stuttgart Stakes. The announcement in church was that a "new stake of Zion" was to be founded, but no further details were given except to say that the new, smaller dimensions of the existing stakes will mean greater responsibilities for the members (such as at the temple, etc.).
Elder Hafen, the presiding General Authority in Frankfurt now, will be presiding at the conference which will take place at the Zurich Schwamendingen Stake Center on Saturday and a larger location in Winterthur on Sunday.
As for my personal speculation, I'd bet that the German wards and branches within the Bern and Zurich stakes will be incorporated into the Stuttgart Stake as the Elders here have informed me that their visas for Switzerland are now valid for 2 years instead of the 18 month versions we had when I was a missionary. I would also guess that the new stake will be based in St. Gallen, but we'll find out before long.
P.S. The Geneva Stake was divided last year to create the Lausanne Stake in the Romandy, so there is good news of Church growth in Switzerland.
