New St. Gallen Stake 08 May 2007
This past weekend at a special conference attended by the Zurich, Bern, and Stuttgart Stakes, the new St. Gallen Stake was founded with Br. Konrad from St. Gallen as the new Stake President.

President Bolt remains the Stake President in Zurich as does President Weidmann in Bern. The Aarau and Freiburg Wards as well as the Bad Sackigen Branch were moved from the Bern Stake to the Zurich Stake. Many units from the Zurich Stake (including Altstetten) were moved to the St. Gallen Stake and, as was mentioned in the previous news item, two new German branches (Schwemingen and Offenburg) were added to the Zurich Stake. This makes the Zurich Stake quite a narrow corridor running from the Swiss border with Italy in the South to a much more northern part of Germany than the Stake previously encompassed.

I will post a scanned copy of the new stake boundaries shortly.
