Met by beautiful wife, Crista at the Y in 1984. That summer I was a volunteer host/Chinese translator at the Olympics in LA. Hosted the Chinese Ambassador. The next year was a busy one - I graduated from the Y in April '85 with a degree in business, Crista and I got married in the Jordan River Temple in July. She graduated from the Y in August with degree in Phys. Ed. and we moved to LA!
Crista taught 9th grade Spanish and basically supported us while I tried out a few start-up companies in the computer industry (too early for an Internet IPO!) Went to night school at USC for 2 1/2 years and got my MBA in May 1992. Worked for Pacific Bell in marketing/sales in LA for two years. After surviving quakes, fires and riots I got a job with AirTouch Communications in San Francisco and we moved to the Bay area.
Spent 3-4 fun years as AirTouch's Business Development Manager for Asia and worked on projects in Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan, China, Korea and Morocco (I know Morocco's not in Asia, but we |
