After graduating, I worked for a startup software company in Salt Lake City developing software used for genetic sequencing. Shortly after that company was purchased by GE Healthcare, I started working for another software startup company in Sandy, UT which is developing a new handheld device.
Lin Hsing-Kuan (Charlotte) and I were married in the St. George temple in May, 1995. She was also a missionary in the Taichung mission at the same time as me. We did not meet each other until a chance encounter with a common acquaintance in BYU's Cougareat.
After trying for many years, our prayers were finally answered when our twins, Steven and Allison, were born in November, 1993.
My experiences in Taiwan provided me with a strong spiritual foundation that I continue to rely upon to this day. I attended the 50-year jubilee celebration in Salt Lake City on March 31, 2005. While there, I ran into a member from Chia Yi who indicated that the whole family of a man who was baptised while I served in Chia Yi later joined the church. They are still active today, and the man has served in a bishopric. The blessings flowing from Taiwan seem to have no limits.
Although we've lived in the Salt Lake valley for years, we really lost contact with our old friends from Taiwan when we left BYU. Please feel free to contact us--we'd love to hear from you. |
