Hey all,
Brent Hales here. I served from 89-91 and loved it. I went back there (Murfreesboro) for a couple of years for grad school. I married Candy (Smith) in 1992. We have 5 kids (Zach 14, Matt 12, Gabriella 9, Sam and Luther 5) and 1 foster son (Rainier 20). We live in Petal, Mississippi where I am a professor at the University of Southern Mississippi (Hattiesburg). I never thought that I would end up back in the South, let alone twice. We love it here and are happily raising our family here.
We previously lived in Cleveland, MS where I was a professor at Delta State University. We now go to the Petal Ward (in Hattiesburg - go figure) where I am serving as bishop. It is an amazing experience and one that truly challenges me everyday. I am grateful for the training a mission provided me to rely on the Spirit. It is essential in every aspect of my life.
I hope that all of the missionaries that I served with or taught in the MTC that served in TN know that I think of them often. I wish all of you the best. Please do not hesitate to contact me. I look forward to hearing from you.
