I live in the Twetens ward here in North Bend and was forwarded this email over the weekend:

Some of you may have heard that Tyler Tweten, son of Gail and Randy Tweten and longtime resident of our ward, was in a serious accident last weekend. He was hiking off trail in Utah where he attends school and fell over 60 feet from a cliff. He suffered extensive injuries to his face, neck and vertebrae, but miraculously survived and was fortunate in many ways not to have impacted nearby areas that might have had even greater long-term or permanent damage.
He's been through a number of long surgeries to repair his jaw and eye sockets, and is being monitored closely to watch for infections. There's a long road ahead of additional surgery and therapy, so any prayers or contact would be helpful and comforting.
Tyler is still in intensive care, and will be for a few weeks - The doctors have put him in a turtle shell for the broken vertebra. Ty has had many cat scans, and no apparent brain damage. No paralysis detected anywhere.
Utah Valley Regional Medical Center has a web site,
http://www.ihc.com/xp/ihc/uvrmc/
on this page is a " email a patient " link - click on it and there it is. Very nice service.

Just thought it might be good for him to hear from some people from the mission...
