Comments: Sister Findlay and I are grateful to all of you who have sent Christmas greetings, birth announcements and other letters or who have visited with us during this past year. Each contact with any of you gladdens our hearts and reminds us of the love we shared with you during those wonderful three years we spent in the Texas Houston Mission. Your successes and achievements make us proud. We also feel very deeply those adversities that sometimes are reported to us.
I have been serving the past two years as an ordinance worker in the Jordan River Utah Temple. This has been a great blessing as I have experienced the deep spiritual joy that comes from serving in that sacred place.
The main events of our lives this past year included planting, working in, and harvesting our garden. I enjoyed many days of working in our pasture, watching the horses romp and enjoying the view of Lone Peak from the loft of our barn. With the exception of our daughter, husband and four grandchildren who live in Southern California, the rest of our seven children and 28 grandchildren live within a forty mile radius of our home, so we don’t have to travel to see family. |
