Cheryl and I have five married sons, and we have five grandsons and one granddaughter, all less than three years old. Our sons have finished undergraduate degrees, and a few are continuing with post-graduate studies. Unfortunately, all five sons and their families now live in five different states, with only one family here in California. I guess it’s an excuse to travel more. I wish I could afford to retire. I am still serving as HP Group Leader in the Anaheim 10th Ward.
I still have not been back to Thailand since 1977, but Cheryl and I did manage to get to Japan this past Fall, with our son and his wife, who is Japanese-American and has some relatives in Japan.
Christmas 2011 has been busy as usual, even with only three of the five families here. The four toddlers more than make up for any number of missing adults.
I served in Thailand with Elders Karl Prisbrey (LTM and trip home via Hong Kong and Waikiki, which we mostly slept through; we visited the PCC for about 30 minutes; I’m sure it was beautiful), Mani Seangsuwan (a one-week transition after arriving in country), David Richards (Thonburi), Shane Berger (Thonburi), Pond (Chiang Mai, very briefly), Huber (Chiang Mai), Ebanks (Chiang Mai), Edwards (Lard Phrao), Steve Canova (Lard Phrao), Weaver (Korat), Brad Poston (Korat). I never sat on a buddha’s head. |
