I Love the People - Poem | 25 Jul 2007 |
I found this in my journal. I remember writing it during morning study after fiinding out about the inactivity of some of the people I had helped teach and be baptized. I love the People: As we met at first, we now have become close friends. The road since we parted has taken many bends. The time we had together was full of great joy. The feelings experienced are hard for tounge to employ. I wish to express gratitude for the chance which I had, to help you find a light which will never make you sad. Please keep true to the promise, that, by our Lord given, will keep a burning hope inside you that truly "He is Risen." His life to your eyes gives a light that burns brightly. I have seen it! I have felt it! I know this is the way! My greatest desire for you is that you go not astray. Sweet joy, sweet peace, much laughter and tears. I will never forget you through the remainder of my years. Whether I return to this distant place I know not for certain. But this I do know - this life is not the final curtain. There is more - so much more, and the Master stands at the gates. He is watching and waiting for you to seek the award that awaits. Let us be faithful. Let us be true. Let us do ALL that we can do! Now, you may ask, "Why to you is this so important? Why do you act as if this is so urgent?" It is because I desire that one day you here these words - "Well done, thou good and faithful servant." | |
