News Item: A Letter from President Monson

Dear Friends and Former Members of the Uruguayan Liberation Army,
Greetings on Labor Day. Susie and I just spoke with our son, Mike, who is in the SLC airport, leaving the MTC and heading for BA South. All of our love and feelings toward missionaries are very close to home today.
We had a wonderful mission reunion (our first) last October. Planning the reunion around the October general conference appears to be the most convenient time to gather together the crew from the mission.
Last year, we did everything on the Friday before conference. We began in the temple Friday morning, had an informal lunch at the Wilkinson Center on campus, and then had a zone conference on Friday evening at a near-by chapel. The Friday activity was a conflict with other events such as the BYU-Utah State football game and a couple of wedding receptions.
This year, we are thinking of shifting a few events to avoid as many conflicts as possible. We are planning to start Thursday evening (October 4) with the zone conference at a chapel near BYU campus. We will attend the temple together Friday morning and have lunch afterward at the Wilkinson Center. Friday evening is then free to attend watch Elder Poppinga play football.
If you have any strong feeling for or against this agenda, please let us know as soon as possible.
We look forward to seeing you again.
Best regards, Kevin Monson
