I clicked the wrong button for my first mission president. He was Lyman S. Shreeve. After returning from Uruguay, I graduated from the University of Idaho in 1959 in 1963 received an M.D. degree from Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis. In the middle of those medical school years I married Eileen Albertson, from my hometown of Wendell, Idaho. We were married in the Salt Lake Temple, June 14, 1961. Our first child was born on the first day of my internship at Minneapolis General Hospital. From there I served two years with the Public Health Service in Talihina, Oklahoma, and was a branch president of the Talihina Dependent Branch of mostly Choctaw Indians...a very wonderful experience. From June 1966 to June 1995 I was a family physician in Burley, Idaho, serving as a Bishop, Stake President and Spanish-speaking Patriarch. I am currently serving as the mission president of the Mexico Merida Mission, July 1995 to July 1998. We have 7 children: Janie, Gary, Steve, David, Julie, Brian, and Jennifer. Of the six who have served missions, four have been to Spanish-speaking countries. We have 7 grandchildren, and one due in January 1998. We would love to hear from any of our missionary friends. I love the Uruguay/Paraguay Mission, and now we also love the Mexico Merida Mission. (Note from Sister Petersen, I have filled this out for President Petersen...he doesn't like to tell the good things about himself. It is a joy to serve with him in this mission and see his Christ-like leadership. Please correct the mission presidents. I couldn't delete them after they were in the wrong boxes. Thank you.)
