I met Kris at Ricks Jan 1999 and we got married Aug 14, 1999 in Chicago, Il. After a semester at Ricks we moved back to Minnesota where I tried a semester at UofM Duluth before dropping out. We moved down to the Twin Cities and got jobs. We bought a house March 25, 2002 and started a family. Our first son Kyle Salbacka was born July 19, 2003 and Keith Gregory was born Feb 13, 2006. Keith is autistic and takes much of our time. Kyle is also on the autism spectrum.
We are currently serving as Primary Teacher, Ward Bulletin Specialist and Ward Librarian.
I started school again after 4 years of being a dropout. I switched from Electrical Engineering to be a science teacher. I graduated and got my middle school and biology teaching license Dec 2009 but was unable to find a teaching job. I am back to working in IT, running the Service Desk for the school district but I did get into a program to get my teaching license and I have almost completed it.
I was happy to not be in the classroom this year as I found a lump under my ear and it turned out the be a parotid gland tumor. I had it removed in May and luckily it was non-cancerous. |
