Cooley (1976 - 1979) | Served: 1977 - 1978 | Areas Served: Brigham City (twice), Granite Stake, Granger/Hunter, Evanston Wy., Montpelier Idaho, Star Valley Wy., Orem. | Companions: Connie D Butterfield (Weiss) | Julie Daniels (Rennard) | Carla J Faulk | VALERIE JO Furrow | Your Occupation: Mother and President of Kochel Cattle & Timber Inc. | Spouse: John Kochel | Comments: I also served with Sister Diana Fields (Nugent), Sister Sheri Flans was my Great Trainer. Sister Corrine Koop (Johnson), and Sister Suanne Garner. Sister Garner came to us from another mission as she had to return home to Utah for medical reasons and then was able to finish her Mission with us. Her and I and Sister Faulk served as a threesome for a couple months in Brigham City. I have kept in contact with most of my companions over the years as they are eternal friends. I loved my mission and love the people I taught and served. I kept in touch with the members I grew to love like Rulon and Donna Smoot in Brigham City. Years ago President and Sister Cooley stopped and visited our home on their way to Alaska. President helped me round up cattle on horseback, it was great. I sure love President and Sister Cooley. They have made a difference in many lives. I will be eternally grateful for their love and leadership, and great example of service in the Kingdom. We try to follow their example and serve when and wherever called. John and I have 6 children 4 of them have served missions and 2 left not yet of age to serve. Our youngest son Eldon named after President Cooley is 15. In fact Eldon was born 2 months after President and Sister Cooley visited us. Our eldest son Layne served in the Provo Utah Misson. Raelene our oldest daughter served in Catania Italy, Brian served in Nashville TN, Kirk in Pittsburgh, PA. Our youngest daughter Jill is talking of serving a mission but will have to wait another year till she is 21. Our children have been blessed to attend and graduated from BYU Provo and Idaho, and 2 are attending BYU I. now. Raelene is married to Jordan Bradley and now have a wonderful son Reagan who is 2 yrs old, being Grandparents is sweet. We are grateful for family and challenges and the many blessings we all share. This is the first time I have visited this web site and its great to see and recognize many of you fellow missionaries. I look forward to our next mission reunion. |
