President Jonathan W. Snow

HUNTINGTON WOODS -- Funeral services for Jonathan Snow, a former Mormon bishop and local businessman, were held Wednesday at the Bloomfield Hills Stake Center of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Bloomfield Hills.

Mr. Snow died on Saturday, Oct. 6, 2001, of cancer at his home in Huntington Woods. He was 89.

Mr. Snow, who earned a bachelor's degree in commercial arts in 1934 from the University of Michigan, was a co-founder of Snow Real Estate and the Best Carpet Co. in Royal Oak.

He had a creative side, winning awards for radio and newspaper advertisements he put together for his businesses. It was a craft he learned during a brief, three-year career as an advertising copywriter.

Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Marba Andersen; three sons, David, Paul and Jonathan Jr.; two daughters, Kathryn Jarvis and Linda Dennis; 24 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

Burial was at Roseland Park Cemetery, Berkley.
